lands is present and little or no white oak forest is present. The logisti
regression analysis showed positive or negative association with
agricultural lands, stream density, the extent of public land, May
maximum temperature (hex. avg.), and-to a lesser degree-Douglas-
fir - white fir - tanoak - madrone mixed forest, sagebrush steppe, towns
and cities, road density, topographic variation, April precipitation (hex.
med.), and July maximum temperature (hex. min.).
